Founder’s note
“Calacatta Viola is Copenhagen to me.
It is the city I return to every year and the one I carry with me when I am designing. There is a way the Danes live with light: softening it, gathering it, lighting a candle in the middle of the afternoon simply because it makes the room feel kinder. Hygge, they call it. A word for the small, deliberate art of being at home in a moment.
That feeling is what I wanted to create.
This candle is the lift of a Copenhagen morning and the hush of its long blue evenings. Berry and blackcurrant and green leaves at the top, the brightness of spring through a window. Clove and geranium and rose at the heart, the romance of a table set for people you love. Moss and musk and warm wood at the base, the quiet, grounding pleasure of a home that holds you.
The marble matched the feeling before I had words for it. Soft ivory, animated by violet veining that runs through the stone like something alive. Delicate and unexpected.
Of all four pieces in this collection, Calacatta Viola is the one most people fall for first. I understand why. It is the easiest to live with, the easiest to love. It does not ask anything of you. It simply lifts the room.
This is the candle I light when I want to feel inspired. When I want a space to feel like a beginning. When I want a little of Copenhagen, wherever I am.”
