From joy to design
Recognised for our distinctive approach to Scandinavian design, we craft spaces where simplicity deepens into meaning.
Chloe Lasserre, Founder & Creative Director
Our approach
We call our approach Nordic simplicity. Itâs about finding beauty in balance, where classic Danish design meets modern lines, where industrial edges soften into organic forms. Sculptural yet minimal. Light and shade. Always a dialogue of contrasts.
We design with curiosity and intention, crafting spaces that feel calm, considered and deeply human.
Guiding principles
Lou Joia Studio is deeply rooted in the rich heritage of Scandinavian and Nordic design, with a special focus on Danish interiors. We proudly partner with leading Scandinavian brands and local suppliers to transform homes across Dublin, making each space feel personal, serene, and inspiring.
Guided by the principles of human wellbeing, we aim to create environments that are not only visually stunning but also foster a true sense of comfort and calm. Every project is a celebration of simplicity, harmony, and joy: values that lie at the core of everything we do.
Our story
Lou Joia, meaning âLa Joieâ and âThe Joyâ in Italian and French Nissard, is both a promise and a tribute to founder Chloeâs daughter, Lou Rose. The studio is built on the belief that homes should be filled with beauty and meaning, bringing joy into everyday living through curated art, thoughtful furniture, and emotionally resonant design.
Chloeâs creative roots began in professional theatre before she discovered contemporary painting in 2010, creating and selling work to private collectors across France. She later completed a Masterâs degree in International Luxury Marketing in France and began her marketing career working with prestige perfume and cosmetics brands, sharpening her eye for storytelling, aesthetics, and craft.
Alongside her creative practice, Chloe built a career in the tech industry, leading large international teams. This background brings strategic clarity, structured project management, and a highly collaborative approach to every Lou Joia project.
As a certified interior designer, Chloe brings both creative intuition and professional expertise to each project, crafting spaces that feel refined, personal and deeply meaningful.
Lou Joia Studio grew organically after Chloe transformed a newly built penthouse into a Nordic Parisian sanctuary, sparking enquiries from neighbours, clients, and her Instagram community. A later trip to Scandinavia deepened her connection to Danish design: light-led spaces, honest materials, and purposeful objects. This journey led to the creation of Lou Joia Marble Rituals, a signature collection celebrating timeless forms and the grounding beauty of natural stone.
