That said, my work often carries a sense of purpose, joy, and calm. I’m inspired by Nordic design and studios like Norm Architects, favouring clean lines, minimalism, and thoughtfully curated materials with a modern edge.

Lou Joia Studio takes a considered and respectful approach when it comes to your existing furniture and décor. If certain items are of good quality and align with the overall design vision, I am more than happy to incorporate them into the new scheme.

Our priority is to create a cohesive and harmonious space, so each piece will be assessed individually within the broader context of your home’s evolving aesthetic. This ensures the final result feels intentional, balanced, and truly reflective of you.

Do you design custom furniture or built-ins?

I have a network of skilled craftsmen who create cabinetry, wood and metal furniture, upholstery, window treatments, and more & all integral members of our team as I bring your home together. I design custom furniture, millwork, and cabinetry, such as bunk beds, kitchen cabinets, and built-ins, tailored to your space and style.
