Rosa Perlino is the candle I reach for when I want to retreat for a while.
I light it early in the morning, before the day begins, or in the evening when the house has become quiet. I make Japanese tea, open a book and allow myself a moment with nowhere else to be.
I have come to value these small rituals more and more. The warmth of a cup held between both hands. A few pages read slowly. The softness of morning light, or the particular calm that settles in at the end of the day. Nothing elaborate, simply a moment to return to myself.
The fragrance was composed around that feeling. Bergamot and fig bring a gentle freshness at first, followed by black tea and bay leaf, deeper and more contemplative. Cedarwood, vetiver and musk bring warmth and softness, leaving something quiet and comforting in the room long after the flame has been extinguished.
Rosa Perlino itself carries that same sense of softness. Its pale blush tones and natural movement give the marble an almost delicate quality. Depending on the light, it can appear creamy, rosy or quietly mineral, and no two pieces are ever exactly alike.
This is not a candle I associate with an occasion.
It is the one I light when I want to retreat from the noise for a little while. To make tea. To read. To sit quietly. To create a small space in the day that belongs only to the moment.

An artisanal creation, your Lou Joia candle deserves considered care. Following these simple steps will help preserve its quality, optimise its burn and allow you to enjoy it safely.
Prepare your space
Place the candle on a flat, stable and heat-resistant surface.
Protect delicate surfaces, including wood and marble, with a suitable tray or candle plate.
Keep away from flammable materials, children and pets.
The first burn
We recommend lighting your candle with a long match.
On the first burn, allow the wax to melt evenly across the surface, creating a full melt pool. This may take up to approximately 4 hours depending on the fragrance and surrounding environment.
Allowing the wax to melt evenly helps prevent tunnelling and encourages a consistent burn throughout the life of the candle.
A small amount of smoke may appear when the wicks are first lit.
While burning
Do not burn your candle for more than 4 hours at a time.
Never leave a burning candle unattended.
Do not move the candle while lit or while the vessel and wax are still hot.
Keep away from draughts and heat sources.
After each use
Extinguish the flame gently, preferably using a candle snuffer.
Once extinguished, carefully re-centre the wicks if necessary.
Before each new burn, trim the wicks to approximately 3–5 mm to encourage a clean, controlled flame.
When to stop burning
Discontinue use when approximately 5 mm of wax remains, or when the metal wick sustainers become visible.
Care & storage
Allow the candle and wax to cool completely before moving or handling the vessel.
We recommend airing the room after burning your candle.
Keep your Lou Joia velvet pouch to protect the candle between uses or for storage.
Store in a cool, dry place between approximately 15°C and 25°C, away from direct sunlight and excessive heat, to help preserve the fragrance, wax and natural stone vessel.

Best suited to small and medium-sized spaces, with a softer fragrance presence in larger rooms.
Fragrance is released gradually, reaching its optimal diffusion after approximately 20 minutes.
