Understated luxury, inspired by Danish living
Entirely designed by Lou Joia Studio, this full living room redesign was created for a newly built four-bedroom family home. Conceived as a sanctuary to slow down and reconnect, the space draws inspiration from the quiet elegance of Copenhagen’s boutique hotels. The design brings a sense of calm, balance, and considered luxury to a family home.
The result is a timeless yet highly functional living room, where craftsmanship and materiality take centre stage. Custom oak veneer joinery with a soft linen backdrop is paired with smoked amber glass accents, a black oak Crittall-style door and window, and a carefully curated selection of pieces sourced from Copenhagen. Together, these elements create an atmosphere of understated luxury: refined, warm, and deeply human.
